Things they are a changin'

Well lots of life changes have come our way...

We had a fabulous Radhastami celebration at Krsna Camp, affectionately renamed this year, Radha camp. I know we have truely made some life long friends here. To view all the fun I've uploaded the pictures to my Picasa web album.

Papa Bob had a birthday and Ashton made him a cake all by himself! Here is a shot of the baker after he finished his masterpiece.

Ashton finally lost that pesky loose front tooth! No more Carni smile!

Steven will begin his Ayurvedic Practice starting Mid November. We just signed a lease for his office space yesterday! We are super excited. Got a great price in a great location. Here is a picture of the exterior. We'll get to move in October 1. This will give us plenty of time to paint and get everything set up.

Steven's got several more trips down to Nevada City planned through November and then he'll be home for a while! YAY! A trip to India may also be in the near future due to some great connections he made on his last trip to California. A pilgrimage is being organized by a local Pujari to tour various holy places. He'll also have an opportunity to meet other Practitioners in India!

I couldn't be more proud or excited for him!

Happy Birthday to me!

My dear and wonderful husband decided to throw me a birthday party this year! I was so excited to say the least. He arranged it all including the decorations! He even had a color theme, orange and white! Can I just say he is amazing? HE IS AMAZING! I just had to shout it out!

So all my wonderful friends came to our home and filled it with singing, laughter, and food! Life couldn't get much better I don't think! Thank you everyone who came. It really meant a lot to me. This is the first really big gathering we've had at our home since we moved in so needless to say it was about time. We had over 20 adults and 9 children!

Check out FB to watch the video of our Kirtans. We had sooooooo much fun! What a great way to start out my 32nd year!

Guess who turned 31?

Me!

Yep I am the big 31 now. I had a wonderful birthday. My friend Amrta surprised me with a party on Saturday. That was so fun. We had a big kirtan with great food, singing, and dancing. That night Steven and I did lots of prep for the feast on Sunday that we sponsored at the temple. We really had a fun time cooking with Mother Arrudha, Tim, and Joslyn. Steven rolled out about 150 puris, which is an Indian puffed bread. My grandma and brother Joe came to temple on Sunday and got to hear me sing and shared in the feast. Momma Lawrence sent me a home made scarf. I was so excited to have something she made herself. Here are some of the pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

Thank you everyone for making my birthday so special. I felt really spoiled!

Birthday Fun Steven Style!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST WONDERFUL HUSBAND IN THE WORLD!

So my wonderful husband turned the big 33 on Sunday and we celebrated quietly together. I did make him blow out candles as everyone should on their birthday. I tried to tourture him with Zip lining in the mountains but that wasn't what he had in mind. Instead we went for a nice bike ride and walk in the quiet as my good friend, Amrta was nice enough to watch the boys in the morning.

The boys made him beautiful cards decorated with dinosaurs and family portraits. It was very sweet.
As our gift to our family hero we gave him an Indian drum called a mrdanga. He should have lots of fun learning how to play this instrument. This huge boxed was in our hall for about two weeks, so it was nice to have it opened.

We ended our celebration with 33 cup cakes with 33 candles and a roaring chorus of happy birthday. Here's to Steven another year older and wiser. Thank you for all that you do for our family. We love you very much!
